Price steel in Claude

Add it

1. Open our listing. Or, in Claude, go to Customize → Connectors, select Discover and search for Steady Steel.
2. Press Connect to Claude. There's no account with us to sign in to, so it connects straight away and shows under Your connectors.
3. In a chat, press + in the message box, then Connectors, and check Steady Steel is switched on.
4. When Claude asks to use one of our tools, pick Allow once or Always allow.

Add it once, on the web or in the desktop app, and it works in Claude on your phone too. On Claude Team or Enterprise, an Owner adds it for the organization first, then everyone connects their own account.

Ask it

“Price 4 pieces of 3/8 inch mild steel plate, 6 x 10-1/2 inches, with a 13/16 inch hole 1-1/2 inches in from each corner. Then make me a link to order them.”

“What steel products does Steady Steel sell online? Price one kit.”

“I need a cracked trailer hitch welded. Can Steady Steel quote it?”

What happens next

• A price. The quote gives the price of each part, the HST, the total and the lead time. A price holds for 7 days.
• A link to order. Ask for one and Claude makes a link to a page on steadysteel.org. You check each part there and order it on our site. Keep the link to yourself: anyone holding it can open the page.
• Work it can't price. A part from a drawing, a weldment or a repair goes to our quote request form, with the job filled in. You add your name and contact details and send it, and we reply with a price. That link works for 30 days.

What it doesn't do

• It doesn't buy anything. You order and pay on steadysteel.org.
• It sends us nothing that says who you are: no name, email or phone number. You give us those yourself when you order or ask for a price.
• It prices only what we list: the plate materials and thicknesses we cut, and the products in our catalog.
