Lowboy Tunnel Cart

A low cart for moving gear through a jacked pipe by hand. The frame is HSS 3 x 2 with a 1 in galvanized bar grating deck for cables and fittings, about 8 ft long and 24 in wide. Four 6 in rigid casters sit on mounts canted 20 degrees so the wheels meet the curve of the pipe, which keeps the deck about 12 in off the invert and rolls over joints and zip ties. Two HSS 2 x 2 posts at each end drop into sockets and pin, 24 in above the deck, to carry 6 in slurry pipe and give the crew something to push on; tow lugs at both ends. Under 400 lb with the casters. Sized here for 1200 mm pipe; the mounts and posts are set to your pipe ID. Built in our shop by CWB-qualified welders, painted grey.
