Shaft Gantry

A gantry that stands over a shaft and carries the hoist. Four HSS 10 x 6 x 3/8 legs, pinned to the frame at the top, splay out 15 degrees both ways to 3/4 in base plates. Two W18x46 side beams run the long way, two W21x93 girders sit across them on seat plates, and the W21x93 hoist beam rides on the girders with a C15 cap on its top flange. Four HSS 4 x 4 knee braces tie the legs back to the side beams, and four 1 in plate lugs on the girders take the rigging to set it. About 38 x 35 ft over the feet, 23 ft to the top of the hoist beam and 15,000 lb of steel. Each one is drawn to the shaft and the hoist on your job. Built in our shop by CWB-qualified welders and painted safety yellow.
