Is the shop CWB certified for structural steel?
Yes. The certification in force is CSA W47.1 Div 2 (valid to June 2027) and CSA W47.2 Div 2 (valid to April 2027), and it is the company that is certified rather than an individual welder — the shop holds the procedures, the qualified welders and the audits behind them.
Those dates are read from the register the shop maintains, so this page goes quiet on its own if a letter lapses rather than carrying a claim past its expiry.

Do you produce shop drawings, or do I supply them?
Either way works. Bring a stamped set and the shop builds to it, raising RFIs where the drawing and the field disagree. Bring a sketch and the drawings are produced here — modelled in SolidWorks, then drawn with weld maps and piece marks.
Detailing and modelling happen in Newmarket. Sealed engineering does not: where a code requires a professional engineer to seal a design rather than detail it, that is yours to supply or a separate scope.
How does a structural package run from drawing to site?
Drawings first — yours or ours — then material, then the shop. Sections are cut to length on the automatic bandsaw, plate work is cut on the CNC plasma, holes and copes go in, and the assemblies are welded and marked against the drawing before anything is painted or loaded.
What ships is piece-marked to the drawing, so the crew on site is matching marks rather than measuring twice. The same crews that welded it install it, which is also why a field change comes back to the people who can answer it.
How far into the GTA do you deliver structural steel?
The shop is at 42 Wilstead Dr in Newmarket and delivers across York Region, the Greater Toronto Area and Simcoe County on our own truck.
Truck delivery carries a $100 minimum on the goods, before tax and before the delivery charge. Pickup at the shop is available during shop hours, Monday to Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m..
What structural sections does the shop work in?
Wide flange and standard beams, HSS in square, rectangular and round, channel, angle, flat bar, round bar and plate. The automatic bandsaw cuts all of it to length, and the CNC plasma takes the plate work that goes with it — base plates, gussets, stiffeners, connection plates.
Sizes and current availability are printed against every section on the materials list, so what is on the rack today is visible before a package is priced rather than after it is scheduled.

Do your own crews erect it, or is that a separate trade?
Our own crews. Work is welded up in the Newmarket shop and installed by the people who built it, and we weld and repair in the field on equipment and structures that cannot come off site.
Non-pressure attachments bolted to customer equipment are a regular part of the work.
